Larry McLain (Lakeview) is a fiddler of old time music. The McLain family of Lakeview is synonymous with old time fiddling in Lake County, participating in the Old Time Fiddlers Association for decades. McLain and his twin brother, Terry, play all over Oregon.

Bio

The McLain Family of Lakeview are legendary old time fiddle musicians in Lake County, where family members have participated in the Old Time Fiddlers Association for decades. Members get together regularly for evening jam sessions, and monthly at the senior center for a jam session. RosaLee and her husband, the late Homer McLain, had five sons, three of whom play music. Homer and his father both played fiddle. Sons Larry and Terry, who are twins, are active in the Old Time Fiddlers with their mother. Larry plays rhythm guitar and Terry plays mainly fiddle as well as mandolin, bass fiddle and guitar. RosaLee accompanies them on vocals. Larry and Terry, who learned at an early age from their dad and an uncle, play all over southern Oregon with other musicians.

Larry McLain will perform old time fiddle music and discuss the history of this music and performance techniques.
