Grupo Condor is a touring folk music ensemble that blends the styles of Spanish, African, and Native American influences. Grupo Condor members are dedicated to the preservation of their diverse heritage and musical backgrounds. Residents of Oregon, group members have traveled throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico and Europe.

Grupo Condor is a touring folk music ensemble that performs the traditional music styles of Spanish-speaking countries. Residents of Oregon, Grupo Condor members have traveled throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Through concerts and school programs, Grupo Condor blends the styles of Spanish, African, and Native American influences that have created this tri-cultural art form. Group members are dedicated to preserving their diverse heritage and musical backgrounds. At present, they use three different types of instruments: strings (Spanish), flutes (Latino and Indio), and percussion (African and Latino). The members of Grupo Condor include Nelson Salazar (Ecuador), Nelda Reyes (Mexico), and Gerardo Calderon (Mexico). 

Programs Offered

Grupo Condor, a three-piece group, will perform a variety of traditional Latin American folk music. The group will explain the history of the music and of individual instruments used in the performance.

Fees

$300 per lecture plus expenses.
